Stretch your legs and get out your hand lens! Spend the morning in old growth redwoods and on the banks of Redwood Creek for a botany-oriented hike examining several plant families and genera.

Taught by the skilled Naomi LeBeau (Park Stewardship Restoration Specialist), this class will provide an introduction to the botanical terms commonly used in identifying plants with a taxonomic key.

Dune ecosystems support an incredible variety of fauna and flora and the park has some amazing examples! Michael ChassМ© will lead this class in learning the basics of dune ecology followed by a walking tour of the dunes in the Presidio!

The Park Stewardship team will lead a leisurely walk along the trails of Mori Point. A guide will describe the biodiversity of the area's ecosystem, as well as highlight its importance in the scientific community. Spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and a new appreciation for spring wildflowers in San Francisco are guaranteed!

Join us for this peaceful stroll in the Presidio forests. We will explore simple ways to connect and reconnect with nature through short mindful meditations. No prior experience is necessary, just an open mind!

Join Chrissy Sullivan (Natural Resource Specialist, Tennessee Valley), for this informative and interesting class on something we should all be aware of: the threats posed to the parks by invasive plants. Class will start with a presentation, followed by a hands-on component in the field!

Come and get hands-on with our precious native seeds! Robin Binaoro (Marin Headlands Nursery Assistant) and Stacy Jacobsen (Presidio Nursery Seed Collection Specialist) will be discussing the fundamentals of seed collection and cleaning!

Come learn about invertebrates living in the Redwood Creek near Muir Beach and help with this community-science invertebrate count!

Michael ChassМ© (Natural Resources Manager for the Park) will share the story of how San Francisco's rare endemic manzanitas were once thought to be lost forever, only to be rediscovered and brought back from the brink of extinction. Come learn about the current efforts by park staff are restoring populations of these species to the San Francisco landscape.

Brian Hildebidle (Presidio Trust; Natural Resources Stewardship Coordinator) will lead this all-day field workshop on the different techniques involved in using willows for restoring riparian zones.
