Join us for this peaceful stroll in the Presidio forests. We will explore simple ways to connect and reconnect with nature through short mindful meditations. No prior experience is necessary, just an open mind!

Continue with our nursery class series and delve into the interesting and delicate techniques used to treat our native seeds to start germination and our growing season! This class will be led by Alisa Shor (Director of the Park Nurseries) and Robin Binaoro (Marin Headlands Nursery Assistant).

If it‰ЫЄs been way too long since that high school biology class, come join Annette Russell (Presidio Nursery Manager) to learn the basics of plant biology!

Join Chrissy Sullivan (Natural Resource Specialist, Tennessee Valley), for this informative and interesting class on something we should all be aware of: the threats posed to the parks by invasive plants. Class will start with a presentation, followed by a hands-on component in the field!

Be a part of the Marin Wildlife Picture Index Project, a One Tam citizen science initiative aimed at studying wildlife on public lands around Mt. Tamalpais! As part of the project, trained volunteers assist agency staff as they hike to some of the most remote locations in Marin to service the cameras and download photos.

Join the talented team of Maria Alvarez (Restoration Ecologist), Chrissy Sullivan (Natural Resource Specialist), John Anderson (Restoration Technician), and Patrick Nicholson (Seasonal Restoration Technician) for a Park Academy class on the identification of grass species‰ЫУespecially those within our parks!

In this workshop, Desmond Murray (Presidio Nursery Community Coordinator & Longtime Bay Area Gardener), Rebecca Blanck-Weiss (Nursery Manager & Landscape Designer) and Will Schell (Nursery Intern) will emphasize natural pruning techniques, fertilizing, pest care, and water management for California native plants. Tools and gloves for the hands-on portion will be provided.

Come learn about invertebrates living in the Redwood Creek near Muir Beach and help with this community-science invertebrate count!

This next class in the Botany Series will delve into how to use taxonomic keys to identify plants. Taking the Plant Terminology class is strongly recommended before taking this class. This class will be taught by Brett Stevenson (Ecological Restoration Coordinator), Esperanza Pimentel (Biological Science Technician) and Stacy Jacobsen (Seed Collection Ecologist for Presidio Nursery).

Join the Nature Journal Club for a 1.5 hour workshop to learn how to mix watercolors to get the colors you want...and also learn that exact color matching is not as big a deal as most people think it is!
