Join us for a special "Gardening with Birds" program at Black Point, where we invite you to be in deeper relationship with the natural world around you in this beautiful, often forgotten part of Fort Mason. We will be joined by experienced birders David, Donna, and George to guide us in noticing and understanding the bird communities who make their homes around the gardens. This program will combine active and passive birding with getting our hands dirty tending the gardens at Black Point, and learning about the relationships between the birds and the gardens. Whether you are a first-time gardener or birder, or have years of experience, this program is for you! Binoculars and tools will be provided. Registration required.

Please bring closed-toed shoes, clothing you can work in, and your sense of curiosity! Water bottle and hat recommended.

Accessibility: Please note that the gardens are situated on a hillside, and much of our stewardship work includes navigating slopes and stairs. The closest restroom to the worksite is a 5-10 min walk away. If you are interested in the program, but unable to attend because of an accessibility barrier, please reach out and we will try our best to accommodate.
