Join us for a fun day getting your hands dirty and bringing a local coastal prairie back to life!

Join the Watershed Stewards Program and the Golden Gate National Recreation Area to restore the native habitat at Kanoff Wet Meadow! These 4-hour workdays will focus on weeding purple velvet grass (and potentially other introduced species) to increase habitat for native plants and promote local biodiversity. This is a collaboration with Grassroots Ecology, please register using this link. Sign up for one or both days!

Age, Skills, What to Bring:

  • Volunteers ages 12 and under require an accompanying adult.  
  • Volunteer Agreement Forms available to sign on-site. Volunteers under the age of 18 must have the parent/guardian approval section signed.
  • We'll be working rain or shine. Wear clothes that can get dirty. Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required. Bring layers for changing weather and rain gear if necessary.
  • Bring a personal water bottle, sunscreen, and lunch.
  • No experience necessary. Training and tools will be provided. Fulfills community service requirements.

COVID and Illness Guidelines:

  • Stay home and DO NOT attend if you:
    • Have any illness symptoms
    • Have tested positive for COVID-19
    • Suspect you have had contact with a COVID-19 positive case
