Join the Nature Journal Club for a 1.5 hour workshop to learn the basics of how to sketch a bird while it is still in front of you! This will be a fun draw along lecture so bring your sketchbook and pencil.

In this workshop we will explore landscape drawing on the run--how to draw and paint a landscape in five minutes or less, while standing up, in wet weather. Learn how to see basic shapes, simplify values, and discard unnecessary detail. All experience levels are welcome!

Meghan Steinharter (Fort Funston and Oceana Nurseries Manager) and Robin Binaoro (Marin Headlands Nursery Assistant) will lead this class in the art of rooting plants from cuttings.

Come and get hands-on with our precious native seeds! Robin Binaoro (Marin Headlands Nursery Assistant) and Stacy Jacobsen (Presidio Nursery Seed Collection Specialist) will be discussing the fundamentals of seed collection and cleaning!

Be a part of the Marin Wildlife Picture Index Project, a One Tam citizen science initiative aimed at studying wildlife on public lands around Mt. Tamalpais! As part of the project, trained volunteers assist agency staff as they hike to some of the most remote locations in Marin to service the cameras and download photos.

Come learn about invertebrates living in the Redwood Creek near Muir Beach and help with this community-science invertebrate count!

Michael ChassМ© (Natural Resources Manager for the Park) will share the story of how San Francisco's rare endemic manzanitas were once thought to be lost forever, only to be rediscovered and brought back from the brink of extinction. Come learn about the current efforts by park staff are restoring populations of these species to the San Francisco landscape.

Brian Hildebidle (Presidio Trust; Natural Resources Stewardship Coordinator) will lead this all-day field workshop on the different techniques involved in using willows for restoring riparian zones.

Join the very knowledgeable Stephen Andrews (UC Berkeley Professor, specializing in soils) for this next class in his soil series. Come learn the fundamentals of soil biology and learn how to build a successful and thriving compost!
