Since 1981, the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy has worked to preserve the Golden Gate national parks, enhance the park visitor experience, and build a community dedicated to conserving the parks for the future.
After three decades of consistently and meticulously tallying the daily fall raptor migration at the Golden Gate, we have a lot of great data, and we have an amazing ability to see a kind of baseline raptor migration story for the 19 species that are seen here annually.
The Park Stewardship team will lead a leisurely walk along the trails of Mori Point. A guide will describe the biodiversity of the area's ecosystem, as well as highlight its importance in the scientific community. Jacqueline Rais is the Parks Conservancy's Chief Development Officer. She leads the Development and Membership Branch of the organization to expand and increase our philanthropic revenue in support of national parks – emphasizing our social, racial, environmental justice, and resource conservation goals.
Kick off our nursery class series and delve into the interesting and delicate techniques used to treat our native seeds to start germination and our growing season! This class will be led by Liz Ponzini (Manager, Marin Headlands Nursery) and Robin Binaoro (Associate Manager, Presidio Nursery), Martine Glaros (Seed Collector/Nursery Assistant, Marin Headlands Nursery), and Desmond Murray (Seed Collection Ecologist, Presidio Nursery).
