The national parks surrounding the Golden Gate are unlike any other places on earth, parklands next to cities that create an “Uncommon Common Good” for Bay Area residents and visitors from around the world. Those words lay the foundation for a special episode of Doug McConnell's "OpenRoad" on the Golden Gate National Parks and their main champions. The show first aired on NBC Bay Area on Thanksgiving night, 2019, an appropriate time to think about how these open spaces have impacted people and families around the region and the world.

Watch below to learn about the parks’ strong foundations and bright future welcoming all who want to bask in their beauty. Or watch just to enjoy some of that beauty from afar!
