Named for an ill-fated residential development called Marincello, this trail tracks along what was supposed to be the main thoroughfare of the failed 1960s-era project.

Here both the Pacific and the Bay are visible from the narrow ridgeback.

The most gorgeous view possible of this location occurs during sunset. The rocky shore is even more dramatic when the surf is rough against it and the sun a warm orange-pink.

Driving up to the parking area is steep, and it's a premonition of what the trail will be like. You guessed it, the ascent will be too. However, switchbacks make the climb much easier. Near the top of the ridge, it flattens out and becomes a fire road.
