During this event, we will teach you about the Wildlife Picture Index (WPI) and you will participate in the cataloging and identification of wildlife.

Come help us find representatives of as many different phyla (major life forms) at Mori Point. Think of it as trying to find as many different major branches on the tree of life, rather than counting the leaves (species). Depending on participants interest we may also look at shrub and tree diversity. No prior knowledge necessary.

Stroll through an old-growth redwood forest at sunrise, hear tall tales, soar in the sounds and smells, and hear the historical and ecological story of Muir Woods.

Join a park ranger to learn about the history of Fort Baker! We will discuss the history of the San Francisco Bay, Fort Baker's role in the defenses of the Bay Area, and perhaps a few secrets of the fort as well.
