Veterans of the Nike program come to the site to share their stories with visitors and give guided tours of SF88 between the hours of 12pm - 3pm.

Yes, this lighthouse at the southwest tip of the Marin Headlands is still active and maintained by the U.S. Coast Guard. Getting there is a challenge. Parking is limited and the 0.5-mile walk is steep and precarious. This spot, at the "world's end," is ruggedly beautiful. Nearby, old army buildings are used for environmental education programs.

Touted as San Francisco’s most historic building, the Officers’ Club—once a social hub for U.S. Army officers and their families—has roots that go back to the earliest days of Spanish settlement, in the late 18th century. Now a multifaceted cultural destination, the Officers’ Club offers free exhibits tracing the Presidio's past and present, free live music and talks, weekend crafts for kids, and school field trips.

Campgrounds in the Golden Gate National Parks

You can pitch a tent, view the stars and take in the sounds of the night from any of five public campgrounds in the Golden Gate National Parks. Reservations are required for all campgrounds.
