Within the blissfully remote Marin Headlands, Tennessee Valley has become a prime destination spot for casual hikers, bikers, and riders.

A short scenic hike from Lands End Lookout leads past Sutro Baths and up to stunning Pacific Ocean views, especially striking at sunset with rough surf. The trail continues through cypress trees and wildflowers to overlooks of the Golden Gate and a visitor center with amenities.

This is one hike that will leave every hiker amazed at this natural wonder and grateful the environmental activists of the past stood up against the powerful forces of unchecked urbanization.

Take Golden Gate 70/80 from Civic Center in San Francisco to Marin City transfer station. A short walk through a residential neighborhood will lead you to the Pacheco Fire Road trail head.
