After centuries of slaking the thirst of its denizens, El Polín Spring itself has been, well, refreshed. In 2011, a dramatic phase of improvements was completed by the Presidio Trust, Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, and National Park Service.

Trail in the Tennessee Hollow Watershed

At 270 acres, Tennessee Hollow is the largest watershed in the Presidio. Since the late 1990s, the Presidio Trust, National Park Service, and Parks Conservancy have been working toward restoring the entire watershed from springs to bay, to restore a vibrant, contiguous, and diverse mosaic of native plant communities and wildlife habitat.

A new ADA-accessible bicycle/pedestrian bridge links the south end of the Golden Gate Bridge to the Presidio Coastal Trail, while protecting historic batteries.

A number of major revitalization projects at Lands End have restored important habitats, improved forest health, opened vistas, created overlooks, enhanced trail experiences, and built a new visitor center.
"Within These Walls" dance project
Our Work
Within These Walls is an integrated, multi-media contemporary dance project featuring 14 performers and original recorded music, poetry, and video projection that ran for two weeks of September 2017 on Angel Island State Park in the Immigration Station.
