The Parks Conservancy’s signature project, Crissy Field, was transformed starting in 2001 from a former military airfield into a beloved national park site through the generosity of the Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Fund and Colleen and Robert Haas, as well as thousands of community volunteers and donors. Learn about this special place's storied past.
Long-term volunteers are dedicated stewards of our parks and community. Opportunities are available throughout the year. Commitment levels vary by position and ongoing training opportunities are provided.
We are major advocates of environmental sustainability, and we practice that core value throughout our Golden Gate National Parks.
Revitalize and Steward Historic Gardens
Help cultivate and restore the park’s beautiful historic gardens. Activities include weeding, pruning, and planting.
Preserve Historic Structures and Cultural Landscapes
Help preserve and enhance beautiful landscapes and maintain historic buildings and grounds. Activities include mulching, re-seeding, weeding, pruning, winter planting, litter removal, painting, and groundskeeping.
