National parks provide a remarkable public commons where people’s health and well-being are nurtured, where protected lands show vulnerability and also resiliency to climate change, where people of all backgrounds can cross paths, where shared experiences with history and culture offer opportunities for reflection, dialogue, and empathy leading toward community resilience and a sense of our shared humanity and connections with our history and the planet.

In September 2022, Access to Adventure Day was held in the Presidio for the first time ever. This was a family fun day that included music, games, cooking lessons, and the chance to explore the new Presidio Tunnel Tops.
