In a special ceremony at Crissy Field, 32 young people were honored as new U.S. citizens and the next generation of public lands and public library users. They heard from author Dave Eggers, who said “this country’s greatness depends on you."

A life-sized, 82-foot blue whale art installation sculpture was exhibited at the west end of Crissy Field. Made from recycled plastic collected in California, the sculpture sought to address the serious issue of plastic pollution threatening our oceans.

The Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy would not be where it is today without our volunteers. In 2017-2018 we had 27,000 volunteers contribute to stewarding the 38 park sites across the Golden Gate National Parks.
