Join us for Spring Days of Service! Celebrate Earth Day, National Volunteer Week, and National Park Week with the Golden Gate national parks. From beach cleanups to habitat restoration, there's something for everyone. Bring yourself, your friends, and your family!

When: Wednesday April 19th, 2023–Sunday April 23rd, 2023

Wednesday, April 19th
  • 8 am–Noon, Alcatraz Historic Gardens (San Francisco)– Register Here
    Tend to a garden with rich horticultural and social history.

  • 9 am –Noon, Presidio Habitat Stewards (San Francisco)– Register Here
    Restore and preserve the Pesidio’s natural areas.

  • 10 am–2:30 pm, Invasive Plant Patrol (Marin)–Register Here
    Remove invasive plants to protect rare butterfly & wildflower habitat in the Marin Headlands.

Thursday, April 20th
  • 8 am–Noon, Alcatraz Historic Gardens (San Francisco)– Register Here
    Tend to a garden with rich horticultural and social history.

  • 9:30 am–12:30 pm, Rancho Habitat Stewards (San Mateo)–Register Here
    Remove invasive species and restore grassland habitat.

  • 1–4 pm, San Francisco Habitat Stewards (San Francisco)–Register Here
    Protect and restore the natural diversity of San Francisco’s wild landscapes

  • 2–5 pm, Black Point Historic Gardens (San Francisco)–Register Here
    Tend to a garden with rich horticultural and social history.

Saturday, April 22nd

    Restore and preserve the Pesidio’s natural areas.

  • 9 am–Noon, Presidio Forest Stewards (San Francisco)– Project is Full, Please Join the Waitlist Here
    Learn about urban forestry and tree care while helping with reforestation.

  • 9 am–Noon, Presidio Nursery (San Francisco)–Register Here
    Care for native plants and other nursery tasks.

Sunday, April 23rd
  • 9:30 am–2:30 pm, Habitat Restoration Team (Marin)–Register Here
    Remove invasive species to restore and protect critical ecosystems.

  • 12–5 pm, Stinson Beach Cleanup (Marin)–Register Here
    Join in for Stinson Beach Cleanup and Collaborative Sand Art-Making

Groups

Groups of five or more require special arrangements and must be confirmed in advance. Please review the List of Available Projects and fill out the Group Project Request Form.

COVID-specific Guidelines

  • Stay home and DO NOT attend if you:
    • Have any illness symptoms
    • Have tested positive for COVID-19
    • Suspect you have had contact with a COVID-19 positive case
  • Face coverings and social distancing are encouraged, but not required.

The Golden Gate National Parks Volunteer Program is a cooperative parkwide effort of the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, the National Park Service, and the Presidio Trust.
